The 2024 CEW Beauty Awards were held Thursday at the Marriott Marquis hotel in New York, honoring the beauty industry’s innovators and change makers.
“It’s not just about the products — it’s also about the people that have produced these products, and it’s an honor to get to recognize their efforts,” said CEW president Carlotta Jacobson in her opening remarks.
Industry veterans and “Fat Mascara” podcast cohosts Jennifer Goldstein and Jessica Matlin hosted the ceremony, which also saw an appearance by “Lip Gloss” rapper Lil Mama, who not only presented Rare Beauty chief marketing officer Katie Welch with the Lip Color Product Award for the brand’s lip oil, but unveiled a beauty venture of her own.
“I am sincerely happy to be here with you guys tonight to celebrate beauty, especially lip gloss, which I love so much I wrote a song about it,” laughed the rapper, whose hit song peaked at number 10 on the Billboard Top 100 in 2007. “I am pre-launching my very own lip gloss collection, the ‘It’s Popping’ collection with Vaniteaset Cosmetics, set to release in 2025 — so you should be looking forward to seeing me on the list for the CEW Awards next year.”
The E.l.f. Beauty team took home two awards for their Holy Hydration Lip Mask and Halo Glow wand.
