Turner-Smith also doesn’t have personal connections with the epidemic, “but that doesn’t mean I shouldn’t care. We all should,” she said. “It’s great to have an opportunity to use your celebrity to support a great cause.” Turner-Smith effectively used her star power during the evening’s auction. She graced the stage twice to sell diamond and emerald earrings—the winning bid went for $65,000—and persuade a guest to donate $300,000 for a guest appearance on her series, The Agency.
Each year, amfAR’s galas showcase incredible fashion moments, and the Vegas bash didn’t disappoint with beautiful long gowns and cocktail dresses. Temple arrived at the party in a stunning silk satin slip dress that featured flowers and gold pigment inspired by chinoiserie design. She was accompanied by Fausto Puglisi, the creative director Roberto Cavalli, who designed her look. His jacket matched her frock and the two were among the best dressed guests. “He’s very knowledgeable on how to make a woman feel glamorous,” said Temple. “You can’t help but feel like one when you slip into something like this”
The gentlemen also brought their A-game. Styled by Fabio Immediato, Bohen was the best-dressed man at the party—wearing a simple but sophisticated, one-of-a-kind lavender suit that evoked floral sketchings. He paired it with a black open-collar shirt. Stallone also stood out in a royal blue double-breasted jacket with matching trousers. He and his wife Jennifer were honored with the Award of Inspiration accolade and their daughters Sophia, Sistine Stallone, Scarlet, proudly looked on from the audience.
Amber Riley sang tunes at the start of the gala and Ross closed it out by performing a medley of her hits including “I’m Coming Out” and “You Can’t Hurry Love” for about 30 minutes. The vibe was electric and nearly the entire crowd erupted into dance. Fassbender immediately got on his feet and showed off his impressive moves. He’d lift up his hands, jive his hips back and forth, clap and laugh with his friends. Temple even joined him for a quick dance. Turner-Smith joined Ross’ son Evan near the front of the stage and sang along, while Wright bobbed his head back and forth and recorded some videos of Ross on his phone.
“AmfAR parties are always a lively event, even though the subject matter is preventing death,” said Bohen. “It’s got the right spirit!”
