Tata Harper has stepped down as president of the skin care brand she cofounded with her husband, Henry, in 2010.

She will transition into a new role as cofounder and brand ambassador of Tata Harper Skincare as the company’s 2022 acquisition by South Korean beauty giant Amorepacific nears completion.

Amorepacific has tapped Shay Bennaim, most recently general manager, North America of Le Labo, as Tata Harper’s global brand president. Prior to his role at the The Estée Lauder Cos. Inc.-owned fragrance company, Bennaim served as vice president of sales and go-to-market strategy at Coty.

“I am thrilled to join Tata Harper Skincare and…honored to carry forward the vision set by Tata,” Bennaim said in a statement. “With the support of Amorepacific and our passionate team, I believe Tata Harper Skincare will continue to be a model that the industry follows, encompassing outward appearance, inner health and a holistic lifestyle.”

Known for its “clean” formulation ethos, which prioritizes high concentrations of natural and raw ingredients, Tata Harper’s most popular offerings include its BHA Regenerating Cleanser, Water Lock Moisturizer and Resurfacing Serum, which range from $46 to $92. The brand’s distribution includes Sephora, Bloomingdale’s, Bergdorf Goodman, Credo Beauty and Nordstrom.

In her new role as brand ambassador, Harper will focus on deepening the brand’s storytelling efforts, informing new product development and overseeing philanthropic efforts.

“I am excited to enter this new chapter for Tata Harper Skincare alongside Shay Bennaim,” the cofounder said in a statement. “Under Shay’s leadership and with the expertise of our talented team, I am confident that Tata Harper Skincare will not only continue to lead the clean beauty industry but also consistently deliver innovative and luxurious products to our cherished community.”

While terms of Amorepacific’s acquisition of Tata Harper were not disclosed, the brand reported sales of between $60 million and $65 million in 2017.
