There was a time when we could easily predict what Hailey Bieber was going to do with her nails. The queen of the glazed donut manicure almost exclusively wore shimmery, pale polishes, to the point that the look became synonymous with her. But lately, she’s been throwing some curveballs. Hey, they say motherhood inevitably changes a person, so maybe that means taste in manicures, too. In just the last few months, we’ve seen a French manicure, warm fall hues, a deep blue, and even a couple of nail-art moments. And now, just when you might expect something Christmassy or at least wintry, the model and entrepreneur decided to go in another direction.
On Wednesday, December 4, Bieber posted a selfie video to the Rhode Instagram Stories to help promote the launch of the brand’s new limited-edition Peppermint Glaze Peptide Lip Treatment, which offers a clear, glossy look that lets the natural color of your lips—in Bieber’s case, a mauve-y, light pink. But it’s impossible to ignore that her nails basically perfectly match her lips.
The long, rounded manicure pretty much looks exactly like her lips: a sheer pink with an impossibly glossy finish. Like, so glossy that I’m almost convinced she applied the Peptide Lip Treatment as a topcoat. That glazed-donut shimmer is nowhere in sight—except for on her eyelids.
