Dean and Dan Caten dialed back their signature flamboyance for pre-fall—not to say they’ve toned it down entirely, but rather that a certain pragmatism feels in step with the moment. With luxury spending not at the forefront lately, designers are taking note. While known for their party-boy image and penchant for over-the-top pyrotechnics, the twins are proving to be pretty business-savvy.
Cue a streamlined offer of elevated wardrobe essentials for both guys and girls, seamlessly transitioning from formal officecore to glamorous evening wear, with a detour for a restorative yet stylish hike through the Canadian wilderness. “In a way, it’s kind of tje phases of us,” they said at a showroom appointment.

For the hip businessman, the twins envisioned tailored suits evolving into hybrid specimens, where subtle athletic elements redefined classic blazers as straight-cut, boardroom-appropriate zippered bombers. Tailoring was further inflected with collegiate style. “We loved everything about the private school look!” Striped campus jumpers, classic trench coats, cashmere hoodies, and lean suits were anchored by soccer-inspired sneakers hybridized with Little-Lord-Fauntleroy polished brogues. For women, the preppy vibe brought a masculine edge to angular suits, while peacoats and city coats featured sculptural, form-fitting silhouettes, slightly cocoon-ish and slope-shouldered.

Their memories of hiking through the Canadian woods in autumn inspired the standout outerwear they’re known for—think oversized puffers with a soft, cotton-like texture, supple shearling jackets, protective hooded bombers, and flannel checkered shirts in a warm fallen-leaves palette. The women’s lineup also captured this rugged, nostalgic spirit.

After such invigorating outdoor activation, the chakras require realignment with some indoor excitement. “Time to hit the Oscars!” they quipped, as if the red carpet were their natural habitat. True to form, they showcased an array of sensuous velvet tuxedos layered over sheer chiffon shirts with scarf collars, alongside sinuous black evening numbers featuring daring cut-outs. The Catens have mastered a sultry, confident party-ready look, no doubt.
