PARIS – Interparfums SA is readying the launch of a proprietary fragrance brand called Solférino by the end of next year.

Comprising 10 premium fragrances, it will enter the ultra-selective segment first with distribution through approximately 100 doors worldwide at launch. A freestanding boutique in Paris is also planned, along with an ecommerce site.

“The launch of this new brand reflects the company’s medium-term growth strategy in the extremely buoyant, high-end fragrance market,” the company wrote in a release containing its 2025 outlook on Wednesday.

“This strategy will further extend to Moncler fragrances, whose development will henceforth be based mainly on strengthening the Les Sommets collection through highly selective distribution,” said Interparfums.

In the context of this, Interparfums SA expects its sales in 2025 to range from 910 million euros to 930 million euros, and operating margin to be above 19 percent.

For this year, the company expects to post sales growth of more than 10 percent, bolstered by the new Lacoste fragrance business. In 2024, group sales should range between 880 million euros and 890 million euros, in line with projections, with the current operating margin of more than 19 percent. That’s due to a strong gross margin and ongoing operating cost control.

Interparfums is not the only fragrance-maker to launch a high-end private-label line. Coty Inc. earlier this year introduced Infiniement Coty Paris, a prestige niche collection of 14 scents bridging the company’s past and present in the world of perfumes.

The private-label strategy not only shines a spotlight on a fragrance maker’s know-how, but also allows it to launch into the hot premium segment, which has swiftly been moving the needle in fragrance. Within that category, brands continue to launch collections. Bottega Veneta is the most recent example with its signature line.

Interparfums SA’s fragrance licenses include Boucheron, Coach, Jimmy Choo, Karl Lagerfeld, Kate Spade, Lacoste, Moncler, Montblanc and Van Cleef & Arpels. The group owns Lanvin fragrances and the Rochas brand.
